The Great Pursuit

“If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or fault-finding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind, for truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord.” (James 1:5-7)

The blessings and provisions and promises of God are there for the taking! Just for the asking they can be attained. What’s the catch? There’s gotta be a catch…and there is. “Only it must be in faith” is the catch. No hesitating, no doubting.

How can you get to that position of no doubting when you are facing an impossible situation? It comes through knowledge of Him, His ways, His character and His commitment to YOU. And that knowledge only comes through a day by day relationship. It’s like a marriage. After several years of marriage, you know that person better than anyone else in the world, even his/her own mother! Likewise, you will know God like you’ve never known Him before and in that knowledge comes the confidence to walk on the water in spite of the height of the waves.

Then you can ask for anything of the Lord without doubting because you KNOW Him. It starts with a decision and then a commitment to meet with Him and then the diligence to follow through day by day. I can promise you that this kind of life is never boring. Your days are full and your nights are peaceful.

He always rewards those who diligently pursue Him. I encourage you to start today with that decision.

Blessings everyone…
