Press On!

“I (Paul) do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own yet; but one thing I do; forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the supreme and heavenly prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. So let those of us who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also. Only let us hold true to what we have already attained and walk and order our lives by that.” (Philippians 3:13-16)

The Apostle Paul gave up everything for Jesus. He was a big man in the Jewish religious circle. He was an up and coming man who was destined for great things. One encounter with Jesus Christ changed all that. He says “forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.” A life hidden in Jesus Christ is one of spiritual adventure. Jesus is the great prize, the Pearl of great price, our most precious Friend!

Like the Apostle Paul, we too are on a journey to heaven. Along the way we mature in Him and we become rooted and grounded in His teachings. We have to realize that we are not alone on this road. All believers are on this road and everyone is a different level of maturity in Him. As we mature in Him, His grace is present in us to help those along who are less mature. Eventually all things will become clear to all of us and what a glorious day that will be!

Beloved, today walk in the knowledge you have attained. Order your lives, your way of doing things by that. As you continue on the road, He will reveal newer and greater things to you. Don’t compare yourself to other people and let that make you feel inadequate. There is no such thing in the Kingdom of God. We are all on the same road, going to the same place, to see the same One: Jesus.

Blessings everyone…
