“The Lord is my Light and my Salvation–whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)
Those of us who have put our trust in the Lord are in an incredibly powerful position. Think about it.
The Lord is my Light – The Light of His Word illuminates our path enabling us to walk surely through the dark days of our lives.
The Lord is my Salvation – Through the Blood of Jesus, God has thrown us a lifeline that saves us from eternal separation and torment, but also salvation in every other area of our lives.
The Lord is my Refuge – We can run to Him in fiery trials and fierce battles. We can run to Him when all our friends desert us or turn on us. We can run to Him when the pain of life becomes too much.
The Lord is the Stronghold of my life – A stronghold is a fortress, an impenetrable wall of protection. We can overcome all adversities through faith in the God of our salvation: Jesus Christ!
When He becomes these things to you, then you will be able to say “of whom shall I fear or dread?” and “of whom shall I be afraid?” The key to this state of mind is belief and trust in Him and His Word and Faith that He is all these things to YOU!
