Trust Is A Two-Way Street

“You also must be ready therefore, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him. Who then is the faithful, thoughtful and wise servant, whom his master has put in charge of his household to give the others the food and supplies at the proper time? Blessed, happy, fortunate and to be envied is that servant whom, when his master comes,he will find so doing. I solemnly declare to you, he will set him over all his possessions.” (Matthew 24:44-47)

It takes a lot of trust to put someone in charge of ALL your possessions! I don’t know many people I would put in charge of my bank account do you? So many times we hear messages that we can trust God and trust His Word and His love for us–and we can. But like any other relationship, trust is a two-way street. Can God trust you? Can He trust me?

As humans, we tend to think that it’s all about us. I know I fight this tendency! But Jesus makes it clear in this passage. “who then is faithful?” God has expectations too in our relationship. Can He depend on us to be faithful to pray for something He has laid on our heart or do we fizzle out after a week or so?

I want to be known in heaven as a trusted servant. One who God can depend on to faithfully fulfill every assignment. I want to be found faithful. I want Him to trust me enough to put me in charge of ALL His possessions!

But whether we are faithful or not. Whether we let Him down or are faithful–His love never falters for us. It never fades out, it never gives up on us. That is the beauty of our Lord. His mercies are NEW each day. Each day is a clean slate in the Kingdom of Heaven. There are no losers in Heaven; only winners.

Jesus said “if you love Me–OBEY ME. That is being faithful and that is what pleases Him.

Blessings everyone…
