“And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth [on the cross], will draw and attract all men [Gentiles as well as Jews] to Myself.” (John 12:32)
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. What to do about Jesus? Everyone has a decision to make about Jesus. Do I believe in what He did on the Cross or not? If I believe, am I willing to give my heart to Him? If I am willing to give my heart to Him, am I willing to carry my own cross and follow Him no matter what?
There is a reason that Jesus said the road is narrow that leads to eternal life. Even though the gift of salvation is free, the road to heaven will cost you. It will cost your time, it will cost giving up your natural plans and let Him put His plans into your life and it will cost you in friendships in some cases. However, these costs, are nothing in comparison to the great things He has for you! There is nothing, nothing, nothing more rewarding and purposeful than I life lived for Jesus.
A life that is lived for the sole purpose of lifting Him higher every moment of every day, is a life that has peace, and purpose and treasures in heaven. The Word says that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Anyone who puts God FIRST in their life will be rewarded both in this life AND in heaven.
Jesus said “if and when” I am lifted up from the earth. This wasn’t a one-time thing. Whenever we praise Him, thank Him or tell others about Him, then HE will attract them to Himself. Our job isn’t to beat people over the head with the Bible or browbeat them with condemnation of what horrible sinners they are. Our job is to love them and tell them about Jesus and HE will attract them. He needs us to pave the way for Him to move.
Being a Christian isn’t just about going to church on Sunday morning or Wednesday night, it is working in the lives of the people around you to lead them to Jesus Christ, who loves them and died for them. Don’t waste an opportunity to share the love of Jesus because they might not be here tomorrow.
Every word you speak or write for Jesus will impact someone’s life. Jesus needs you and I to simply do it and He will do the rest…
Don’t know Him?
