The Beautiful Bride

“Let us rejoice and shout for joy [exulting and triumphant]! Let us celebrate and ascribe to Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb [at last] has come, and His bride has prepared herself.” (Rev. 19:7-9)

“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven final plagues (afflictions, calamities) came and spoke to me.  He said Come with me!  I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”( Rev. 21:9)

“The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, the true Christians) say, Come! And let him who is listening say, Come!  And let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need of those things b which the soul is refreshed, supported and strengthened]; and whoever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, and appropriate, and drink the water of Life without cost.” (Rev.22:17)

The beautiful bride of Christ.  Who is she?  What is she like?  The bride of Christ is comprised of all believers who have the following characteristics:

  1.  They are passionately in love with Jesus.  To them, He is not a Sunday morning acknowledgment.  He is not a religious activity to assuage a guilty lifestyle.  He is their all in all.

  2.  They BELIEVE in His Word–every word of it.  They BELIEVE in His Lordship and have not abandoned the faith and embraced popular doctrines going around now.  They BELIEVE He is coming soon to catch them away to the wedding feast.

  3.  They are preparing their hearts and lives to be counted worthy to be a part of the bride.  They have abandoned besetting sins, they have changed their ways, they have begun to pursue more and more intimacy with Him.

  4.  They are watching and praying for His return.  They look for it every day.  Their souls are vexed at the evil of the day and they are praying without ceasing for the lost souls of men.

  5.  They are busy about their Father’s business, while they are waiting for His call.  They are the wise virgins waiting with their oil lamps full and plenty to refill.  They are the faithful servants who are advancing the kingdom every day.

  6.  Their lives are sanctified and set apart for the Father’s purposes.  They have made that decision to take up their cross and follow Jesus all the way–no looking back.  They are 100% all in.

The Christian church has divided into two camps.  The one group has abandoned the basic tenets of the faith and embraced a watered down, compromising gospel.  They don’t believe the Word is the Word, they discount the Blood and even the deity of Jesus Christ.  They don’t believe He is coming back.  They have embraced pagan religious practices.  They have blended in with the world system to the point where they only have a form of godliness while denying the power of the Holy Spirit.

The other group is the true Christians.  A Christian is a FOLLOWER of Jesus Christ.  They have their eyes on Him only.  Their eyes are fixed on the prize of the high calling of God.  They BELIEVE Jesus is Lord.  They BELIEVE He is coming for them: a spotless, pure bride that is not stained with the sins of the world.  They pursue the power of the Holy Spirit like a precious jewel.  They have fallen hopelessly in love with their Bridegroom: Jesus.

All over the world, true Christians are preparing themselves.  They are repenting and changing their lives to conform to His image.  They are pursuing an intimate relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ.  They are actively working to advance the kingdom.  One day, like a thief in the night, that trumpet will sound and the bride–those who are expecting His return will go in the twinkling of an eye.  Those who don’t believe or who are entranced by the world system will remain to face the Great Tribulation.

The question is not IF the Church will be ready, the question is who will be a part of the Church–the Bride of Jesus Christ?  The true Church is ready and waiting.  There is only ONE Bride.  One group of people who will be the Bride.  God’s mercy wants everyone in the Kingdom and millions will come in during the Great Tribulation, but there is only ONE Bride.  Examine your hearts and ask yourself, “Am I ready?”  If your relationship with Him is cold or lukewarm, a simple prayer can wipe the slate clean and today you can join the true Bride of Christ.

Blessings everyone…
