“What do you want Me to do for you? He said, Lord, let me receive my sight! And Jesus said to him, Receive your sight! Your faith (your trust and confidence that spring from your faith in God) has healed you. And instantly he received his sight and began to follow Jesus, recognizing, praising, and honoring God; and all the people, when they saw it, and praised God.” (Luke 18:41-43)
What do you want Me to do for you? This question was asked by Jesus to the blind man asking for his sight to be restored. There are a few things that this blind man had in him that made it possible for him to receive his sight that day.
First, he knew that Jesus had the power to heal him. He knew who Jesus was even though he didn’t know Him personally. Second, he believed that it was possible for him to receive his sight when he asked Jesus to heal him. Third, he put action to his faith by walking and finding Jesus. He wasn’t waiting for it to drop in his lap. He went to Jesus, he found Him and he asked Him for healing–and then he received it.
Sometimes receiving it is as hard as asking for it! He believed it would happen and then he WAITED for it to happen, and then it actually happened. His faith in God brought the healing power from heaven through Jesus’ hands and into his blind eyes. Jesus said “your faith has healed you.”
The result of this miracle was that God was glorified and a new member of the Kingdom of God was brought in that day and even many more because the people who knew him as the blind man, saw that he was no longer blind.
Jesus still heals today. He uses you and me to accomplish miracles if we are open to Him to use us in this way. We are His hands today. Jesus said, “the same works that I do, you will do and even greater works because I go to My Father.” He passed the baton of signs and wonders to His disciples–you and me. Ask Him to use you today to bring the healing power of heaven into someone’s life.
