“For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is mere delusion, and you are still in our sins [under the control and penalty of sin]; and further, those who have died in Christ have perished and are lost!
If we who are abiding in Christ have hope only in this life, and that is all, then we are of all people most miserable and to be pitied. But the fact is that Christ has been raised from the dead, and He became the first-fruits of those who have died. For since it was through a man (Adam) that death came into the world, it is also through a Man (Jesus Christ) that the resurrection of the dead has come.” (I Corinthians 15:16-20)
Christianity is the only faith that requires so much faith to believe it. It flies in the face of all logic and reasoning. It is a natural impossibility for a dead person, one that has been dead for three days, to suddenly come back to life. A logical and intellectual mind simply won’t believe this is true. And that is why Christianity is spirit to Spirit, not in the mind.
The Bible says that the preaching of the Gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing and lost. The story of Jesus’ birth, life, death, resurrection, and His divinity, has created more controversy than any other faith. Even today He and His followers are so hated they are killed all day long like sheep to the slaughter.
Why is Christianity so hated? Why is Islam so accepted in the face of their brutality and intolerance? Nobody says two words about Hinduism or Buddhism or Ba’ hai or Wicca and even Satanism. The ONLY way the world will accept Christianity is if it denies Jesus Christ died for the sins of mankind.
Yet, true Christianity is growing around the world. It is growing because of one thing: the reality of a LIVING Christ. A Christ that has risen from the dead, who comes to His people and brings comfort to them. The presence of Jesus Christ is a very real, very tangible thing. One second in His presence will change you forever. He came to seek and to save that which is lost–He did it over two thousand years ago and He is still doing it today.
If your life is empty, He can and wants to fill it to overflowing with Himself and His plans for your life. He can take an empty life and fill it completely. I know He did it for me. My days are so full of purpose, I have a hard time keeping up!
