Becoming Fire

“And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting, and came out and blessed the people.  Then the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people, and fire came out from before the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar.  When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.” (Leviticus 9:23-24)

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence ad godly fear.  For our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:28-29)

In times past, the people of God would offer animals on the altar as worship offerings to the LORD.  That is all they had.  The only blood available was the blood of bulls and goats and sheep.  These offerings were accepted by God but what He really longed for was true intimate fellowship with people.  The blood of bulls and goats is only temporary and was only accepted by the priest offering it.  There was a chasm between the people and their God because of their sin.

Today, God has provided the Sacrifice to end all sacrifices.  Jesus Christ, His very own Son.  He sent Him, anointed Him and sent Him to death on the Cross for us.  Why would He do this?  Because He really wants to bring us right into His very presence every single day.  He wants us to come boldly to His very throne and talk to Him about our troubles and our victories.  He wants that intimate relationship that was lost in the Garden of Eden, so long ago.

His kingdom is here because of Jesus.  It is a kingdom that cannot be shaken by the fury of Satan or the vehement hatred of men.  It will endure forever.  The question is this: are you going to be a citizen of it?  Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to enter this kingdom.  The scripture says “our God is a consuming fire.”  He sets His people ablaze with the fire of God.  Our hearts should be ablaze with passion for Him.  The fire is our light.  The Word says we are to let our light shine.  It is the fire of God that lights us up!

These are the last of the last days.  Perilous times the Bible says.  Hard times to be alive, yet the most exciting time to be alive.  As people of God, we MUST be ablaze with the fire of God.  We have to catch this fire and let is consume us so that we can show others the way to the Great God and King: Jesus Christ.

Anyone, no matter where they are in relation to God, can catch this fire.  It starts with a prayer of repentance and a request. “LORD forgive me for being less than on fire for You.  Set me ablaze with the fire of God to bring others to You!”  It is time for all who call Jesus Christ LORD to catch this fire!

Meet Jesus Here…

Blessings everyone…
