“One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.” (Proverbs 28:9)
This scripture is a real toe-stomper because it is for those who supposedly know the Lord and have turned away from Him into sin. As believers, we are required to obey God’s Word–every word of it. The commandments have not changed even if our emotions have. This is called the “known will” of God. There is also the “perfect will” of God for each of His children’s lives. The perfect will of God is found in the intimate relationship that is built every single day. It is here that He gives specific instructions for us as individuals. How do you know it’s Him giving these instructions? Because they will NEVER contradict His Word–the Bible.
When you know what the Bible says about something and you choose to do it anyway; that is rebellion and rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft in God’s sight. This is turning your ear away from hearing His word or His law. What is the result of this decision? Even your prayer is an abomination. What you are really saying to God is “I don’t care what You want God, I will do it my way and You better suck it up.” Sorry folks, that isn’t going to fly. You are deluding yourself if you think for one second that God is OK with your sinful life choices. We are to be holy and set apart for His uses as He is holy.
Actually thanking Him for the sin in your life is an abomination to Him. An insult and it is putting His Son’s sacrifice to an open shame. Basically you are taking a crap on the Blood of Jesus that was shed for you. What else is for you? Repent and turn back to God’s Word and His ways or go into the lake of fire with the rest of the rebellious. Sorry to be so blunt, but the people of God, who call Him Lord have to wake up and smell the fire here! Jesus said REPENT! We are running out of time folks. Now is not the time to be out playing in the world and doing what is right in our own eyes. We are here to advance the Kingdom of God while we still can.
Repent and let your prayers become that sweet-smelling aroma He loves. There is still grace for you if you repent…turn away from sin and return to Him!
