Mirror Image

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;  and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.…” (Romans 8:28-30)

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:17-18)

“Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.…” (Colossians 3:2-4)

Before we knew Jesus Christ, whenever we looked in the mirror, we saw a reflection of ourselves.  When we received Jesus into our heart, we could see a hint of His reflection but that is only the beginning of the journey.  That is what I love about following Jesus Christ–there is no bottom to the depths of His love, wisdom, and power.  In His realm, there are no impossibilities and no limits!  Why is this so?  Because Christianity is not a RELIGION, it is a RELATIONSHIP with our Creator through His Son, Jesus Christ.

As we follow Jesus, by learning His heart and His ways, we will begin to look more and more like Him.  Until one day, we look in the mirror and see His face looking back at us.  How is this possible?  Jesus told all of us to take His yoke and give Him our burdens.  He went a step further and told us to LEARN of Him because He is meek and lowly in heart.  We learn of Him in the pursuit of intimacy.  By spending time with Him every day in prayer and in His Word.  That is where it starts.

You will find that as time goes on, your life will completely transform into something totally different than it is right now.  And believe me, THAT is a wonderful thing!  How many people wake up every day dreading every moment because of the misery they are living in?  The wonderful thing about knowing Jesus Christ is that no matter how bad the circumstances are, He is able to give grace to bear up under it AND to get you out of it into something much, much better!

How do I know this?  Because my life was one big pile of misery for many, many years.  My life today is completely transformed.  When I look in the mirror, I am seeing Him more and more.  One day my life will finally be hidden with Christ in God, through the pursuit of the intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.  What is so special about getting to this place?  For one thing,  my natural circumstances won’t bother me.  For another thing, people will know that Jesus has come near to them simply by His presence in my life.

Too many times, especially here in America, we get “saved” and think it is all about our blessings and our world.  It’s not.  It is ALL ABOUT HIM.  When we reach that reality, that is when the real adventure begins with Him!  Beloved, today ask yourself this: is it about me or about Him?  If it’s about you, start learning His heart through time spent pursuing Him in an intimate relationship.  He’s waiting for you…

Blessings everyone…
