Moved to a Promise

“And Noah built an altar to the Lord and took of every clean animal and of every clean howl or bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. When the LORD smelled the pleasing odor (an aroma of satisfaction to His heart), the LORD said to Himself. I will never again curse the ground because of men, for the imagination of man’s heart is evil and wicked from his youth; neither will I ever again smite and destroy every living thing, as I have done. While the earth remains, seed-time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:20-21)
“And God pronounced a blessing upon Noah and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” (Genesis 9:1)

The act of worship moves God, whether it was burnt offerings as Noah did or our heartfelt cries of worship and praise. The Word says “When the LORD smelled the pleasing odor” it satisfied His heart to the point that He was moved to make a promise that is still in effect today. He didn’t just bless Noah and his family, He promised the planet earth and all the people since then that He would not curse it again. He didn’t promise that the earth will remain forever, but while it remains, He won’t curse it. According to Jesus in Matthew 24:35 “ Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”
When the Father smells the aroma of true worship; those who are worshiping Him in Spirit and in Truth, it moves Him to act or speak. He ponders on us as He smells the aroma of worship. One of my cries during my worship times is “Father, let my worship be as satisfying as Noah’s was!” What was the promise Noah received? He received a blessing! God pronounced the blessing of fruitfulness and multiplication. Once again, God wanted to fill the earth with His children. His Plan of Salvation continued to march on until that night in Bethlehem in the stable and victory was claimed at Calvary when Jesus Christ cried with a mighty war cry “IT IS FINISHED!” What a day of rejoicing must have been in Heaven!
Today, as His children continue to fulfill His promise to be fruitful and multiply, it is not just a physical but a spiritual birthing of people being born of the Spirit into His Kingdom realm. He has so many more people to release the aroma of worship that moves Him to a promise. Yes, we are living in perilous times; times of disturbing and shocking evil; times of intense hatred, yet times of the greatest outpouring of the Spirit of God ever seen in the earth. The cry of intimacy with God resounds as the worship becomes more and more intimate. The level of intimacy God is enjoying with His people brings His heart such overwhelming joy! Truly He is walking once again with mankind in the cool of the day.
And that is truly what worship is. It is the sacrifice of praise where we put aside our pain, our disappointments, our wounds and heartaches, and seek His face…not His hand, but His FACE. It’s all about the HEART with God. He loves a hungry heart. Jesus said “blessed are those who HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS for they shall be filled.” He longs to fill us and release the promise of a blessing over our lives.
Beloved, take some time today and every day to release your heartfelt worship and thanksgiving to the One Who is Worthy of it all!
Blessings everyone…
