The Hidden Ones

“Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:1-4)

The Body of Christ is comprised of many different types of personalities and God loves it that way.  It is these personalities that bring out the talents that God has given each beloved child of His to show His glory and a facet of His personality to the world.  Some are bold and strong; some are quiet and equally strong and still, others are somewhere in between.

There are many who are quiet and unassuming.   They are at times invisible to others around them.  They tend to be overlooked by the people around them.  These are the ones who serve God faithfully in the Secret Place of prayer.  They are the ones who do things to support their local church that people take for granted.  Their activities are seen in the smooth-flowing service at church.  In the breakthroughs of the Spirit in the service because of deep intercessory prayer done in the night watches.

They do all their work for God as a hidden one.  Yet in the Kingdom realm, their lives are displayed in celebration for all of heaven to rejoice in.  Their treasures are high mountains awaiting their triumphant entry on that wonderful day.  Our Heavenly Father watches this hidden faithfulness with great pleasure.  I daresay it brings tears of joy to His eyes to watch such a faith-filled and faithful life.

I wish I was one of these beautiful people.  I’m thinking about my sister.  Her life is very beautiful to God.  She is truly a hidden one.  She quietly bombards the kingdom of darkness to take the ground that nobody knows about until they see the results.  She is the one whose efforts have brought thousands of people around the world to our little website for spiritual food.  She is the one who produces beautiful literature for our little body of believers and guests.  Her efforts are noted and very much appreciated by the pastors of our church, but she isn’t doing all these things for the praises of men.  These are the freewill offerings of her heart and God receives this beautiful worship with great joy.

She is just one example of the hidden ones that are found in every church across the world.  Where would the Body of Christ be without these wonderful gifts?  The brother who faithfully keeps the church grounds looking awesome, the nursery worker who sacrifices corporate worship time to take care of the little ones Jesus loves so much.  The list could go on and on and on.  Beloved hidden ones, don’t think your efforts are not noticed.  They are noticed by God who has rich rewards laid up for you!

To the ones who are out front, we also do hidden things to ensure God is able to use and flow through us, and yes, He has laid up treasures for us.  All the faithful who serve in the Kingdom of God are laying up treasures in heaven, but today, I want to give a shout out and a thank you to all those whose ministries are hidden from the eyes of the rest us.  You are the unsung heroes in every church, but in Heaven, you are VERY well known.

Blessings everyone…
